eCheat is not a bad service if you use it for free essays it offers for inspiration or reference. However, it has a very limited functionality as a writing service with no guarantees and constant customer support. The prices are also unreasonably high, and there are no online reviews to judge whether the site can be trusted. Well, there is one now.

What is eCheat? Well, according to their website, it’s “the most friendly and most popular free essay community and term paper research website on the Internet.” As in most cases of self-promotion, this is hardly true, at least when it comes to its popularity.

Is it a writing service? It is, although first and foremost it’s a database of free essays one can use as inspiration for their own papers. These eCheat free essays are uploaded by the site visitors as well, which brings them eCheat points they can spend in a couple of ways.

The site has been active since 1999, and since then it has gathered over 100,000 free essays and almost half a million registered members. Well, that’s according to eCheat’s statistics, although everywhere on the site they claim to be storing more than 150,000 essays.

And if you can’t find what you need there or want to get a paper you can just hand in as your own, they offer custom written essays. Is eCheat reliable as a writing service? Well, there’s no eCheat BBB rating to speak of, so it comes down to me checking it by myself and providing you with the results in this review.

Advantages and Drawbacks

Digital Reputation

There’s no eCheat rating on TrustPilot or SiteJabber since there are no reviews. My eCheat Reddit search also brought no results, as no one was discussing the website there. I didn’t expect to find anything about their free essays since it’s pretty simple – you just find the one you need and use it.

Unfortunately, my Google search for eCheat reviews came up clean, so there seems to be no feedback on their custom written papers.

There are about 6,000 people following eCheat on Facebook, so I hoped to read some comments there. There were hardly any, however, and eCheat is not particularly active either, because aside from the most recent post about the site becoming mobile-friendly (only now?!), the previous post was published back in 2014. A 5-year gap on social media seems to be too long for such a great and popular service eCheat claims to be!

Such seldom posts could explain why eCheat has almost half a million members on the website and only six thousand followers on Facebook. However, even that number seems too high for a page with a couple dozen posts published over almost a decade.

And those posts have no more than 2-3 likes on them. So what’s going on, is eCheat scam? Well, there’s a simple explanation – eCheat gives 50 free points to those who like their page on Facebook. So, I believe the actual number of its members is closer to those 6,000 than half a million.

Echeat: Service Guarantees

Speaking of guarantees, there aren’t really any, and that’s understandable since most of eCheat essays are free and have been uploaded by their contributors. The whole Terms of Use page only has five items, and it becomes clear that the website takes no real responsibility for the papers uploaded by its users.

The community members are the ones responsible for their papers being formatted properly and in compliance with the copyright law.

It would be great, however, to see some guarantees regarding Premier essays and custom essays that you have to pay money for, but it seems there are none. Is eCheat legit after all that? It can be all right, but there’s nothing to make me think it’s a safe place to order a paper.

There are basically three options you have at eCheat: get a free essay, buy a premier essay, which is a prewritten paper you can use, and order a custom paper written by professional academic writers specifically for you based on your instructions.

Process of Ordering

The order form is not the best I’ve seen, but it’s pretty easy to understand as everything is explained right there.

It also becomes clear from the order form that there are only five writers doing all the work (provided there is any if anyone is even ordering papers here). So, I doubt they can always write a quality paper for you because no matter how good they are, it’s impossible for five people to be experts in everything.

Echeat Review: Cost Overview

Premier essays cost $9.95 per page, and custom essays are charged “only” $19.95. For a service that does not offer all the features other writing companies do, has only a handful of writers and no guarantees, that’s too much. Hell, even those other top writing services don’t charge that much.

There is no eCheat promo code to reduce the price, but you can actually buy premier essays and reduce the cost of your custom essay using dividend points users get for uploading their works.

Quality of Papers

I ordered a paper to see what eCheat writers are capable of, and to be honest, despite my fears, it wasn’t half that bad. My essay was acceptable enough, provided doing a few touch-ups here and there. I would not order some more complex works here since they have the same price for all difficulty and academic levels, and it only increases if you choose a shorter deadline.

Support for Customers

It’s obvious that the site is run by only a few people (if not one), and they are also responsible for PlanetPapers.com which is almost an exact copy of eCheat save for the background art and some minor elements. It has fewer essays since eCheat prohibits users to upload the same papers to both sites at risk of losing all the available points.

PlanetPapers even has the same writers should you want to order a paper there, so this site is proof they don’t get a lot of orders.

As for customer support, there is no live chat or a phone number to call. The only available means of communication is sending an email. So, don’t expect to get an answer right away.
