Tutoriage is one of many online writing companies trying to attract students with promises of the lowest prices and the highest quality, and I set out to check whether this was really so. Right from the start, my research provided reasons to doubt most of what this site is offering. While Tutoriage boasts having a good reputation, there were too few reviews to judge from. Customer feedback on the site didn’t help to convince me, since too many of them were just one or two-word comments. 

Tutoriage: Service Critique

I came across Tutoriage essay writing service, which offers academic writing from scratch, professional editing, proofreading, and lots of other services. All of these are supposedly provided by hundreds of professionals who have passed rigorous tests and verified their identity. On the main page, there is also a mention that all Tutoriage writers have Ph.D. degrees, and the company offers the lowest prices on the market. My concern was that I have never heard of Tutoriage before, and they are claiming to have been working for over 10 years already. Naturally, this made me doubt, so I decided to do my research and answer the question “Is Tutoriage legit?” If you are planning to use this service, my findings will be very helpful to you.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Internet Reputation

First things first, I went to TrustPilot and SiteJabber to read some Tutoriage reviews. The former met me with a bright yellow banner informing about a large number of fake reviews being removed from the platform.

All that was left after that are 7 reviews with 6 of them being positive. Can I trust them after being notified about Tutoriage illegal tactics trying to fool their customers? But let’s give it another chance.

There is a similar situation at SiteJabber: only 13 reviews, all positive, and most of them left by people with one review only, and about half of them were left within the same month. Judging from my experience, that is no coincidence.

I also checked for Tutoriage Reddit threads hoping someone would share their experience but found nothing. For a company claiming to have been around for 10 years, that’s an extremely low number of reviews.

Tutoriage.com: Commitments

Although the tutoriage scam nature seems pretty obvious, let’s see what they promise in terms of revisions and returning the money. I found such conditions in their Terms and Conditions, but they seemed a bit confusing, so I had to contact customer support to clear them for me.

So, basically, there are two scenarios for getting free revisions. You can only request the money back if you have previously gotten at least 1 revision for an urgent order or 2 revisions for a regular order. What if I don’t want to get any revisions, just get my money back and order a paper elsewhere? Well, that’s not an option here.

The second case is for when you don’t request any revisions right away, and in three days, the money is automatically released to the writer, and you can no longer ask for revisions. Hence, no refunds for you in that case.

Different Services

Tutoriage essay writing service has a wide range of services they offer. Besides all the possible types of written assignments, from essay to dissertation, students can order help with assessment, formatting, paraphrasing, and problem-solving. I have a suspicion they just put everything on the list hoping that their writers can cope with it. As for the list of services at the bottom of the main page, it reminds more of keywords they put for search engines rather than actual services. Half of them are some of the most common essay types which can easily be covered by “essay help.”

Order Methodology

Tutoriage ordering process is a mess. Once you fill a pretty common order form specifying all the necessary paper details, you proceed to the bidding stage. Here, you will be shown writers willing to work on your assignment for the price they suggest. You can chat with them and choose the one for the job. 

Quite a lot of candidates. I hoped the company would choose a writer for me. And there is such an option, which costs additional $9.99. The writer is assigned right away, but this person seems to be randomly chosen from the same people participating in the bidding process. Um, thanks, I’m not paying extra 10 bucks for nothing.

Tutoriage Review: Fee Structure

There is no Tutoriage price list as the company employs freelancers who suggest their own prices for every particular order by bidding. Or at least that’s what we’re told. I just don’t trust those sites where bids seem to be placed automatically.

Anyway, there are three categories of writers: standard, premium, and platinum. Here, it shows that premium writers charge 10% more, and platinum ones – 15% more. And this just doesn’t make sense, since they all offer their own price suggestions, and I found platinum writers with lower prices than some of their standard ones. But whichever category you choose, the price for the simplest order is too high. I could easily get it done for twice less at a writing company that isn’t so confusing and reeking of scam.

Assignment Quality

The only real way to find out about the quality of papers was to make an order. I chose a premium writer because while charging even less than standard ones, they are said to have a Bachelor’s degree or higher.

The paper I received was medium quality, at best. It was sloppy and contained too many mistakes for a professional writer my author claimed to be. So, I doubt any of the writers’ profiles and statistics of completed orders are true. And how could I not, when even on their site, when checking customer feedback on a writer.

Would the author of his comment rate his paper with 5 stars? How can I trust that 100% success rate or anything else on the site?

Support for Clients

Customer support is probably the only good thing about this site. At least I got a quick reply, and the agent answered my questions properly, providing the information I was looking for. I noticed, however, that the name he introduced himself with was different from what the chat named him. I’d think it was a minor thing and some technical issue if only I hadn’t scrolled customer comments before where they call the same writer by different names. So, I wasn’t surprised anymore.

Tutoriage.com: Special Offers

You can probably consider the page with free samples somewhat of an extra feature. However, there are only 15 samples, and you can easily find more on the Internet.

The extra services you can choose while placing an order are:

• 1-page abstract for $14.99
• VIP support for $12.99
• Progressive delivery for $9.99

I had to ask the customer support what they meant because it’s not mentioned anywhere on the site.

So, the paper already costs too much, and I’m supposed to pay even more to make sure you do it right and deliver on time? That’s just ridiculous.
